International programme
The Malta Crown International Boarding School in Malta offers a British style international education for boys and girls aged 5 to 12 years old.
Malta Crown International Boarding School in Malta provides a high quality, innovative and holistic international education for students by adapting the best of the English National Curriculum to reflect the global focus of our international student community.
It is our mission to ensure that every child feels safe, challenged and happy during their learning so that we can prepare them to be confident, resilient global citizens.
The curriculum is just one element in the education of every child. There is time and space in the school day and in each week, term and year to range beyond the curriculum specifications. The curriculum provides an outline of core knowledge around which teachers can develop exciting and stimulating lessons to promote the development of pupils’ knowledge, understanding and skills as part of the wider school curriculum.
Our school offers a curriculum which is balanced and broadly based and which: promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society, and prepares pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life.
The school curriculum comprises all learning and other experiences. It refers to an education program that combines teaching methods of the traditional classroom and eLearning so that learners can reach their full potential. Every learner has different needs and learning styles, so with this education program, they have greater flexibility of learning at their own pace.
The English National Curriculum is organised into blocks of years called ‘Key Stages’ (KS)
Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 are referred to as Primary Education. Throughout their years of Primary Education at our school, your child’s teacher will assess performance to measure your child’s progress.
Levels of Attainment - Measuring Progress
For each subject there is a ‘programme of study’. It describes what children should learn. Each subject has ‘attainment targets’ - usually split into levels for each subject. Parents receive two written reports during the academic year, telling you the level your child has attained. The first is a Progress Report, which is issued at the end of the first term. At this point you will be given a Level of Attainment for Reading, Writing and Mathematics, as well as progress and effort grades for each subject.
The End of Year Report will give parents an update on Levels of Attainment, progress and effort along with a comprehensive narrative for each subject.
Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 subjects include:
Our fluent English speaking teaching staff are highly qualified and bring many years of teaching expertise, with enhanced knowledge of the English National Curriculum and experience of the additional challenges of teaching in an international setting.
